R. J Ekemo: Alaskan Artist
Cordova, Alaska 1949. Ekemo attended the Alaska Methodist University and the University of Alaska from 1968 to 1972. In 1972 Ekemo started Ekemo Studios, doing sculpting and carvings in ivory stone and fossil bone. In 1976 Ekemo moved to Seattle and was a partner in North Coast Trading Co.. With a larger staff and as many as thirty diverse artists and craft persons Ekemo experimented with many different media. In 1980 he moved back to Anchorage and in 1990 moved Ekemo Studios to Eagle River.
Elizabeth. A. Ekemo: Alaskan Artist
Attended Westmont College, University of Washington, and University of Alaska. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Elizabeth has worked in many different mediums, water color, acrylics, oils and computer graphics and stone. Her work is sold in fine art galleries in Alaska. She has currently finished a series of numberd prints call "Language of the Raven" the prints are being preveiwed at the Aurora Fine Arts Gallery in Anchorage.
D. Norman Oakland: Alaskan Artist
Norman - Norman's background is in fine wood working, the technical aspects of casting, molds, and finish. Norman's Since 1994 Dennis has been assisting other artists at Ekemo Studios in the prep and finish and technical aspect of their work. He also does museum quality restoration. Over the past ten years he has been working in whalebone making a series of dolls and traditional soapstone masks.
J. DuCommun: Alaskan Artist
Jason is from Valdez Alaska. Jason was a commercial graphic artist working mostly with air brush on larger surfaces in 1988 Jason incorporated his graphic ability to three dimensional. Currently most of his art has been devoted to larger graphic three dimensional pieces and walrus bone figurines. We hope you enjoy the fine pieces he makes. Jason’s work is sold in select fine gift stores and galleries through out Alaska.
Charles Oakley: Alaskan Artist
A resident of Alaska most of his life, growing up on a homestead in Ninilchick, Alaska.

He attended Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and was an apprentice for Professor Al Wadzenskie, a known bronze sculptor. Chaz is currently producing work in Bone and Stone

Jorge C. Bailey: Alaskan Artist
Jorge
Spent 8 years in the learning aircraft structural repair & manufacturing.
He has also earned two degrees in photography while working as an assistant instructor and lab tech for the sculpture dept. , "Because of my familys mixed background and ancestry consisting of Cherokee / Blackfoot, Irish and Scotch the change over to the natural materials and mixing the traditional with the new is for me, very exiting". Jorge's transition into carving and sculpture, his attention to detail and ability to work in a mix of new and traditional styles with the whale bone and stone is producing some very well done quality peices.
